At CHIPS Health and Wellness Center we are dedicated to removing barriers that impede the uninsured and underinsured from seeking or obtaining both medical and social services by integrating the two, thus making social services an integral part of health care at CHIPS.
Social services provided include:
- Individual, Group & Family Counseling
- Behavioral Health Assessments
- Support Groups
- Case Management
- Crisis Intervention
- Community Referrals
- Women’s Access to Care and Healing (W.A.T.C.H) Program
This activity is financed (in part) through an allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of St. Louis' Community Development Administration.
ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY RESOURCES:
- The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in St. Louis is a non-profit organization providing personal assistance with furniture, food, clothing, rent, utilities, transportation and companionship to people facing economic, emotional or spiritual crisis.
- The Missouri Department of Social Services is responsible for coordinating programs to provide public assistance to children and their parents, access to health care, child support enforcement assistance and to provide specialized assistance to troubled youth.
- United Way of Greater St. Louis supports agencies that strengthen families, provide job counseling and training, offer affordable childcare, help the elderly, reduce and prevent health problems, help people overcome disabilities, build safer communities, provide disaster relief, prevent violence and more.
- Mercy Neighborhood Ministry provides information on social services resources throughout the St. Louis area.
- Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri has links to numerous mental health resources including crisis lines, counseling and support services, treatment center listings, and more.
- The SPOT is a place where youth (age 13-24) can access health and prevention services, strive for positive educational and vocational outcomes, and have a voice and influence in their communities through leadership opportunities.
